Exit Part I: Fabian and Tülüfülügülümülü on Nazis in Germany

Exit Part I is about stories, Exit Part II about facts and strategies. We’ll meet a Nazi-whisperer, an ex-Nazi, and a Nazi-target.

Tülüfülügülümülü is a writer and actor, son of a guest working cleaning lady and a guest working taxi driver. He grew up in Bavaria and learned the hard way. His Utopia is that people don’t try the easy way in life. You can’t find easy answers to really difficult questions, he says. Who are you in a room for 24 hours without internet?, for example.

Fabian grew up with Nazis in his schoolyard. Today he is working for Exit, an organization that helps people get out of extremist circles. His Utopia: To see that people can change. That is the biggest narrative in a democracy. People can come back to society. The Ex-Nazi didn’t give his name, but you can hear his words spoken by Tülüfülügülümülü. His Utopia: A place where there is no exclusion and where people help each other.

Exit Part II: Fabian Wichmann on how to fight right wing extremism and racism

Fabian gives some hands on strategies of what to do about extremism and racism within your neighborhood or family. He is telling the story of the first involuntary charity march where Nazis marched against Nazis. It went viral and was copied in Sweden and the US for example. We talk about what media could do and why there are so many stories about the perpetrators and just really few stories about the victims of terror attacks.

Podcast von EXIT-Deutschland zum Thema Ausstieg

Der Podcast zur Ausstellung „Haut, Stein“ von EXIT-Deutschland und Jakob Ganslmeier. EXIT-Deutschland ist eine Initiative, die Menschen hilft, die mit dem Rechtsextremismus brechen und sich ein neues Leben aufbauen wollen. Das Aussteigerprogramm EXIT-Deutschland begleitet zusammen mit  dem Fotograf Jakob Ganslmeier Aussteiger und Aussteigerinnen aus der rechtsextremen Szene, die sich ihre Neo-Nazitattoos entfernen lassen. Hier werden ihre Geschichten erzählt.

Die Interviews zur Ausstellung wurden für einen Podcast eingesprochen. Die Geschichten von fünf Männern und zwei Frauen erzählen von ihrem Ein- und Ausstieg: über Gründe, Zweifel, von der Entscheidung bis zum Bruch, von ihrem Leben nach dem Ausstieg und der Entfernung von Szenetattoos. Während die Ausstellung die Entfernung der Tattoos fotografisch dokumentiert, wird durch die Geschichte die Person hinter den Fotografien sichtbar.

Die Geschichten wurden von Felix Lobrecht, Patrick Salmen, Julia Gamez Martin, Steffen Schroeder, Felix Römer, Ariana Baborie und Kai Lüftner eingesprochen.
